It's Always a Mystery. Not Like It Seems To Be.
[tyler sonnichsen]

Man, I suck. Well, not completely, but my accountablity for this awesome website has flagged yet again. For responsible reasons, though. I got a new job, and it's cool, but I have to, you know... do things. However, now, I'm going to return to the intense blogosphere. Alright, in three seconds. Alright..three..two.. one. Damn. What do I have to write about? There's a lot going on now, including a pair of new TDC projects. There is, of course, a new episode of the radio show posted, the first of the 2007 season, actually. Listen to this clip of Jake talking about his brush with infamy during "Beauty and the Geek" auditions.

I could write something about how Ian Maxtone-Graham has ruined The Simpsons, but those of you who have been busy not quoting it for the last ten seasons would be one step ahead of me.

So, I'm going to throw you all a biscuit to keep you entertained for a few days. Remember this? Well, funny story. I've somehow become enamored with Dio on a level slightly above that of sheer irony. Both the man and the music. I now understood why my R.A. from freshman year in college dropped out of school to pursue his dream of founding a power metal band which included a stage show where they all rode in on horses and he slayed a dragon with a guitar solo. (I'm not going to quit my new job to make that happen, so don't email me, Mom). But, upon a little bit of inspection into Dio's post Ronnie and the Redcaps musical excursions, it turns out he's a generally nice guy with a lot of great things to say. Here's an interview he did in Holland last year. Sean Hannity or some other member of our "liberal media" would probably call Ronnie un-American for what he says here, but the rest of you are probably evolved enough to understand my constant kvetching about this culture of false reverence. We admire so much about the past we never experienced, yet eschew the creative, grassroots process that has given us our greatest artistic legends. I'm guilty of this, too, myself on occasion, but I've never watched American Idol.
