RADIO!
Am I right, people?

We're hitting the air yet again this Wednesday night for our annual holiday special. I'll be joined by Jake, Anupama,
Herbie, and a smattering of others to help spread the joy and discomfort to your blessed ears. Great music, too. Get on it.
9 PM ET WEDNESDAY 12/19.

WEEN

I assign the title "genius" to very few. Steve Martin, Chris Rock, and a handful of other living people earn that title for
a series of undefinable reasons. Two of the very few geniuses we have alive today in the world of music and/or comedy entertainment
are named Mickey Melchiondo and Aaron Freeman, aka Gene and Dean Ween. Only in America (and possibly Amsterdam...or certain
parts of the UK...or Eastern Europe...or maybe Mexico...ok) or maybe most of the world would two guys get together in their
parents basement at the age of 14 and start making mindbendingly good music for decades. Ween just did it better than anyone
in any of those other countries.
The number of functional mp3s that Seeqpod could cross-reference was pretty pitiful. I was only able to represent two of their
many fine albums here: 1992's
Pure Guava and 1997's
The Mollusk. Those are their two arguably best albums, despite
being pretty disparate in accessibility and focus. As acquired of a taste as their early stuff can be, "The Stallion Part
3" is simply a prime example of great unconventional songwriting. At any rate, brace yourselves, huff some scotchguard if
that's your thing, and bow to the Boognish. Shout-out to Boston-area artist
Ryan Sullivan for planting the seeds of my love for this band.
